Sharing At The Well
Thank you for taking part in this project. Your testimony is a powerful light that can encourage people who are struggling. We know telling your story can feel daunting, so we’ll make this as simple and comfortable as possible.
“Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” Mark 5:19
Quick Notes
You don’t need to memorize anything. These prompts are just to help you think ahead.
Answer in whatever order feels natural. Speak from the heart—honesty matters more than polish.
Estimated length: Take as long as you need to, there’s no rush.
We may ask a few follow-up questions during the interview to clarify details or help you expand on something.
Prompts
1) Please introduce yourself
Simple facts to start:
Your name (or the name you want used)
Age
Where you’re from / where you live now
What you do (job, student, parent, etc.)
2) What was your life like before Christ?
Describe briefly:
Daily life, relationships, work, or routine
Struggles, temptations, habits, or sins that weighed on you
Mindset or feelings you carried (e.g., emptiness, fear, hopelessness, pride)
Be concrete — a short story or example helps listeners relate more than abstract statements.
3) How did Christ come into your life?
Share the moment and the story leading up to your salvation:
When and where it happened (date/place if you remember)
Who or what led you to Christ (friend, family, church, book, crisis)
Any specific moment of decision, prayer, or realization
If there wasn’t one dramatic moment, explain the gradual change — both are real and meaningful.
4) What is the biggest difference since encountering Christ?
Talk about results and changes:
New attitudes, habits, relationships, or priorities
Specific changes in actions (forgiveness, service, honesty, peace)
How you handle challenges now compared to before
Use a short before/after illustration, One example can be very powerful.
5) How did the gospel shape your life?
This is important. It is your opportunity to share the gospel explicitly with the viewers.
6) What would you say to someone going through what you went through?
Imagine speaking to one person in the room.
7) Bible passages or verses that shaped your story
As you tell your story, try to include bible passages or verses that influenced your faith. Scripture is everything.
Helpful Tips
Start with a short hook: one sentence that sums up the change (For example: “I was lost in addiction, now I’m free because of Jesus.”)
Keep it honest and humble—stumble words and emotion are fine; they make it real.
Use specific examples rather than vague generalities.
If you get emotional, that’s okay—it’s part of the story.
If you don’t remember exact dates, that’s fine—estimates are okay.
What to Expect
The interview itself will be very relaxed, almost conversational. It will take as long as you'd like. Consent: before publishing we’ll ask you to approve the final edit and sign a release form. If you prefer anonymity or a first name only, tell us.
